Pattern fabrics for aesthetic applications

Composite Holding Company reports that it has developed a new range of aesthetic carbon fiber fabrics. The materials have been manufactured from 3K carbon fibre with a fiber areal weight (FAW) of 200 gsm or heavier, depending on customers' requirements, as well as hybrid fabrics from aramid, glass and other types of fiber. They can be used for finishing the interiors of apartments/houses, cars, and other objects

Holding Company Composite has launched new carbon fiber fabrics

Holding Company Composite (HCC, Moscow, Russia) says its new “aesthetic” carbon fiber fabrics have been qualified by Lamborghini and Ferrari. These fabrics are manufactured at Prepreg-ACM, which is a part of the HCC subsidiary, Prepreg-Dubna. The fabrics are manufactured from 3K carbon fiber with FAW 200 gsm and heavier as well as hybrid fabrics from aramid, glass and other types of fiber. The company says aesthetic fabrics are characterized by unique patterns and colors and are used for finishing interiors of apartments/houses, cars and more.

New carbon fiber production plant in Russia

The first ALABUGA-FIBER capacity line will produce 1,700 metric tons which will eventually be increased to around 2,000 metric tons. The company’s new site in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia could go up to 10,000 metric tons or more making it the largest carbonization facility in the world, according to the company.

Holding Company Composite opens carbon fiber plant in Russia

A new carbon fiber plant was introduced at JEC Europe 2015 (March 10-12) on the show’s first day. HCC, or Holding Company Composite (Moscow, Russia), is producing Alabuga-Fibre material at a newly-constructed facility in Alabuga, within the Republic of Tatarstan southeast of Moscow, and according to the company, already has attracted attention from global partners.

Prepreg-ACM certified for marine applications

The certification was awarded by DNV GL Group, which provides services in the fields of certification, verification, independent evaluation and training of personnel. This international certification will help Prepreg-ACM improve its opportunities and market its products in the domestic and international markets, the company says.

China-Russia alliance invests in carbon fiber

The plan is to create a vertically integrated company to produce carbon fiber based polymer composite materials, including raw materials, semi-products, finished goods. The first step is to establish a joint venture aimed at composite materials production and trading, including technical fabrics and prepregs. This joint venture will be established in Shenyang, Liaoning, China, before the end of 2014.

DowAksa, the Nanotechnology Center of Composites sign agreement

DowAksa Advanced Composites Holdings B.V. (Istanbul, Turkey) and the Nanotechnology Center of Composites (NCC, Moscow, Russia), a joint project between Holding Company Composite (HCC) and the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs (FIEP, a member of the RUSNANO Group), signed an investment agreement on January 27 for 134 Million Rubles ($4.3 Million USD).

Dow, DowAksa, RUSANO, HCC to make carbon fiber in Russia

The four firms have signed a memorandum of intent to develop a strategy to launch production of carbon fiber intermediates, composites materials and solutions in Russia.
