Skolkovo Fund and Composite Holding Company signed an agreement to set up and R&D centre for carbon fibre-reinforced plastics in Skolkovo.
Viktor Vekselberg, the President of Skolkovo Fund and Leonid Melamed, CEO of Composite Holding Company signed an agreement to set up an R&D centre for composites at the IV International Nanotechnology Forum, RUSNANOTECH. Sergey Kirienko, Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM and Anatoly Chubais, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Rusnano attended the signing ceremony.
The agreement identified key targets for the R&D centre within the Skolkovo Innovation Centre up to 2015, such as: approximate number of employees - 25, including two foreign professionals.
Target investment in the R&D centre through 2014 will amount to appr. 600M roubles, including up to 300M roubles, which will be allocated as grant financing to Composite Holding Company from Skolkovo Fund. Starting from 2015, the estimated annual budget of the R&D centre will amount to appr. 200M roubles.
The reinforcement system based on a carbon cloth can restore and increase the carrying capacity of structures in a short time and less effort than traditional methods, as well as significantly increase the life of the structure.
